About

My name is Danielle Sarns

I’m a therapist dedicated to helping children, teens, and young adults navigate life’s challenges, build confidence, and manage big feelings in ways that feel natural and engaging.

With a background as a three-time University of Michigan grad (Go Blue!), former educator, and youth coach, I’ve seen firsthand how pressure, transitions, and expectations can weigh heavily on young people. Whether it shows up as anxiety, perfectionism, anger outbursts, or self-doubt, these struggles can make it hard for kids and teens to feel like themselves.

That’s why I specialize in creative, strength-based approaches that meet young people where they are:

  • Play Therapy + Video Game Therapy — giving kids tools to express themselves through play and digital worlds they already connect with.

  • CBT & EMDR — evidence-based methods to help manage anxiety, process difficult experiences, and build coping skills.

  • Mindfulness, Movement & Creativity — yoga, art, and goal-oriented strategies that promote resilience, focus, and self-esteem.

My work is both therapeutic and practical: kids and teens leave sessions with new ways to manage stress, communicate feelings, and feel more confident at home, school, and beyond. Parents are part of the process, too, so growth continues outside of session.

Sitting on Couch

A personalized, one-on-one session designed to support young adults navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, identity exploration, and stress. Through evidence-based and holistic approaches—including talk therapy, mindfulness, and creative expression—sessions provide a safe, empowering space for growth, clarity, and self-discovery.

Child Counseling

One-on-one sessions designed to support children and adolescents in navigating emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Using evidence-based, creative, and age-appropriate approaches—including play, art, and talk therapy—sessions provide a safe space for self-expression, emotional growth, and skill-building.

Sessions are designed to empower young adults to reach their full potential. Through one-on-one sessions, I provide tailored guidance and support, helping students and young professionals develop a game plan to achieve their goals. Together, we work to discover your motivations, enhance leadership abilities, and achieve strategic goals.

Scheduling an appointment with me is simple. Just reach out via phone or email to book a convenient time for your initial consultation. I prioritize prompt assistance and strive to accommodate your schedule.

What to Expect During a Therapy Session

During a therapy session, young individuals can expect a safe and confidential environment where they can openly discuss their thoughts and feelings. We begin with an initial 15-minute call to see if I would be a good fit for you, then move on to an intake where I get to learn more about you and your story. From then on, sessions can be scheduled weekly and eventually bi-weekly or monthly based on how you feel.
